The pack comes with a Mobile Connect  mini USB ADSL modem and a vodafone 3G data SIM card pre-loaded with the  "bono" (prepaid data packet) of your choice. Once used up, the customer has the option to recharge (top-up) the SIM card with another "bono" of 1,000 sessions (250MB) or more of prepaid data transfer.

Characteristics of this pre-pay pack:-

- Includes up to 5GB of initial rechargeable data transfer.
- No monthly bills, pay as you go.

- Plug and Play setup. Ready to go on all laptops with at least one USB port (see other system requirements at page top).
 

THE SYSTEM INCLUDES:

 

1) 3G/GPRS Quad-band HSDPA/3g/EDGE/GPRS modem with micro SD slot.

- Manufacturer: HUAWEI.
- Vodafone 3G Max. data speed 7.2 Mbps.
- Internal antenna.

- MICRO SD slot (doubles as pen drive memory when used with a MICRO SD card not included).
 

2) A data AND voice (UMTS 3G/GRPS) SIM card...

A data/voice SIM card pre-loaded with the amount of prepaid data you choose to use on sessions of internet or intranet data transfer. Each session is good for 256 Kbytes or 10 min., whichever comes first.

Each session is a combination of data volume transferred and time connected.
When the user (you) closes the session, the system calculates the amt. of data transferred and  the duration (in minutes) of the session.

EXAMPLES

1.- A user who is connected for 25 minutes and downloads 5MB during that time will have consumed 20 sessions (20 sessions @ 256 Kb/session = 5 MB). In this case, the total charged to the pre-paid credits will be 5 MB.

2.- A user who is connected for 30 minutes downloads only 100Kb during that time will have consumed 3 sessions (3 sessions @ 10 minutes/session = 30 minutes). In this case, the total charged to the pre-paid credits will be 30 minutes.

AVAILABLE DATA PACKETS. There are 2 types of data packets available. No matter what your needs, we will not activate the packet until the day you are scheduled to travel to Spain so as not to waste any lifespan time on the packet as they all expire a certain amt. of time from activation. For example, if you are traveling to Spain on July 15th, no matter when you make your purchase we will activate your packet on July 15th.

APPLIES TO ALL DATA PACKETS: in order to use the data packet you purchase, your SIM card needs to have at least 50 Eurocents normal call (voice) credit in it. This is a requirement for the data packet to work so we deliver all data SIMs with at least 50 Euro cents voice credit in them.

There are 3 quantity based data packets available.

QB - BASIC DATA PACKET - 250MB (1,000 sessions) = 29 Euros.

QA - ADVANCED DATA PACKET - 400MB (1,600 sessions) = 49 Euros.

QP - PREMIUM DATA PACKET - 1GB (4,000 sessions) = 69 Euros.

PLEASE NOTE: outside of these quantity based data packets data transfer has a cost of 3 Euros per 9 MB of transfer. If you use up your data packet and still connect to the internet, vodafone Spain will remove 3 Euros per 9MB from the normal voice credit in your SIM card. Of course if you have no voice credit in the SIM card then you will not be able to connect and you will not pay anything.

2) TIME BASED DATA PACKETS: Unlimited data transfer valid for a certain period of time from activation date. Ideal for those who do not need to have 3G data speeds for the duration of their stay but do not want to have a limit on the data they can send and receive. The data speed for these packets is 1Mbps UPLOAD and 3Mbps DOWNLOAD but PLEASE NOTE that with  these time based data packets after the first 1GB of data is transferred the data speed reduces to 64Kbps UPLOAD and 128Kbps DOWNLOAD.

There are 3 time based data packets available.

TW - WEEKLY PACKET - Unlimited data transfer for 7 days = 29 Euros.

TB - BI-WEEKLY PACKET - Unlimited data transfer for 14 days = 39 Euros.

TM - MONTHLY PACKET - Unlimited data transfer for 30 days = 59 Euros.

When the initial pre-paid credits are used up from your data packet or when the packet expires, you can easily add another data packet either on your own (instructions included in with your order) or via our website recharge service (http://www.spainsim.com/recharges.htm) available only to those who purchased their SIM cards from us. PLEASE NOTE that there is a markup on the prices of the data packets if you recharge through us.
